How Solutions Work

REDtone Smart Farming solutions are an integrated Internet of Things (IoT) platform that allows farmers to leverage sensors, smart gateways and monitoring systems to collect information, control various parameters on their farms and analyse real-time data in order to make informed decisions.

The three focus areas are remote monitoring of farm parameters, automation of control systems, and remote control which ensures crops are well-nourished and watered without human intervention.

REDtone Smart Farming solutions cater for different types of crops and farm sizes, from smallholders to large-scale plantations. The Smart Lite Fertigation System, for example, is designed for smallholder farmers. Fully automated, feature-rich and economically priced, the system enables growers to master fertigation at a professional level.

Other offerings are Smart Agricultural/IoT-based solutions for farms such as Smart Agricultural for durian farms, Smart Greenhouse and Smart Aquafarming. 

Smart Greenhouse is a self-regulating, micro-climate controlled environment using sensors, monitoring and control systems that optimise growth, ultimately automating the growing process. 

Mitigating COVID-19 Disruptions 

During the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, farmers employing the REDtone Smart Farming solutions are able to monitor, automate and control their farms remotely via smartphone or tablet.

For example, many farmers and their workers face problems in travelling to and from their farms due to travel restrictions, so they are unable to carry out their normal work. Using Smart Farming technologies such as Smart Irrigation, Fertigation and Pesticide Misting have helped to mitigate these issues.
