Kapitani Empowers Farmers With Accessible Agri-Tech Resources

Kapitani is building a scalable digital collaborative platform that converges the entire agricultural ecosystem and serves as a super-connector between the stakeholders in the agricultural value chain.

It strives to empower smallholder farmers with open access to knowledge, capital and resources for the benefit of all. 

Kapitani believes that capital for farmers is the seeds of social progress, and everyone has a role to play in sowing the seeds.

The team is currently working with farmers' cooperatives such as Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan (PPK) Kuala Langat, Pewaris Bumi Hijau, GM Peladang and Sulaiman Plantation to improve the efficiency, productivity and livelihood of their members with the collection of agricultural big data and generation of actionable insight.

Thus far, it has successfully onboarded 300 members from various cooperatives onto its easy-to-use bookkeeping app for farmers. This solution enables farmers to manage their farm systematically and increase profitability through business decisions assisted by big data analytics. Bookkeeping data will be aggregated to assess the creditworthiness of farmers in a holistic way. 

Its mission is to bring Malaysians together to revitalise the agriculture industry and transform it into a sector filled with rewarding jobs and economic opportunities, all in a collective effort to enhance self-sufficiency level by reducing food imports and ultimately improving Malaysia's food security.
