Deloitte’s
New Survey Shows Traditional Methods Being Challenged By Disruptive Outsourcing
Solutions
According to the “Deloitte 2018 global outsourcing survey”, which involved the participation of more than 500 executives from 25 countries across six sectors, traditional outsourcing is being disrupted by emerging technologies. The focus has moved from cost reduction and improved performance towards expanding offerings and penetrating new markets, which would ultimately accelerate the company’s growth.
The results of the survey pools showed that 84% of companies have either started to implement these disruptive solutions or have plans to do so. What's more, 50% of companies have shifted additional services to providers who are engaged in disruptive technologies whilst 43% of them have prioritised that aspect in their contracts. Noteworthy as well is how 37% of companies have increased their provider compensation for innovating.
However, despite the positive feedback received in regards to venturing into these new technologies, the challenge would be to find the right service providers to work with. What could clearly be deduced from the survey was that many respondents were concerned about data security, particularly in areas of cloud (68%) and RPA (62%). Only 25% of respondents were not fazed by cyber risks when it came to making outsourcing decisions.
